By now, I’m sure most of you are coming to grips with the massive impact COVID-19 is having on the world. There are trying times ahead and I am trying not to dwell on all the negatives. I’m taking this route for my mental health more than anything. On a lighter note, while golf courses are still open, hopefully walking is making a comeback in the USA.
Last week I shared the Golf Digest article about how golf can still be played with some smart changes. I hope this continues to be the case and people make good decisions to allow it to be. Golf Magazine also came out with an article that was very good. Check that out here.
Back to walking. My club usually doesn’t allow walking on Saturday mornings in the summer. I hope that changes because of all this.
Until further notice, I will be walking anywhere I am fortunate enough to play. I suggest, if you are able, to do the same. No better way to social distance than strolling along the fairways. Walking golf is also better for your health.
If you must take a cart, please only have one person in each. Our club is disinfecting carts after each use and has stopped bag drop service. These all make sense.
I ask that you all, please, don’t underestimate the severity of what we are all going through. Smart decisions now can pay off later. Stay safe and healthy out there!
